<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: inherit;">I want to apologize that
we have not sent an update since last Christmas to all our friends and
supporters of the Center for the Working Poor, (also known as the <span class="yshortcuts" id="lw_1244660318_1">Burning Bush
community</span>). After our monumental effort to run a tent city and have
hundreds of people <span class="yshortcuts" id="lw_1244660318_2">hunger strike</span> for immigrant rights, including 12 that fasted
for 22 days before the election--- we needed some recovery time. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: inherit;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: inherit;">Now that Sam Pullen has regained
his health after the fast, he has been taking tremendous leadership at the
Center, and is coordinating a renewed effort to expand our programs to help
fired workers. This could not have come at a moment to soon, as the economy has
created a massive increase in unemployed. <span style=""> </span>In fact, some companies are using the
recession as an excuse to fire whistle-blowers who are then denied <span style="border-bottom: 1px dashed rgb(0, 102, 204); background: transparent none repeat scroll 0% 0%; cursor: pointer; -moz-background-clip: -moz-initial; -moz-background-origin: -moz-initial; -moz-background-inline-policy: -moz-initial;" class="yshortcuts" id="lw_1244660318_3">unemployment
benefits</span>. <span style=""> </span>The need for our food delivery
program has more than doubled just within the last few months.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: inherit;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: inherit;">If you have not yet

workers in our program, and there is even a cameo of my circus tricks, which I occasionally
perform for the kids. <br>

We are now struggling to raise enough money for our expanded program,
and to cover room and board for our volunteers. So if you can pitch in,
it will be a great way to
support the workers that are hardest hit by this economy. <br style="">

Center for the Working Poor. Our mission is to deliver food to workers
who have been fired. Many of them have been fired after reporting
