Beyond the words chosen, the manner in which we interact is important. I am
deeply disappointed in you and the manner in which you handle things. You
and I were in direct communication for 2 hours immediately prior to your
sending the note to the list... a much wider forum... and yet you didnt
bring the topic up with me nor among the trustees.
I find this a passive aggressive mode of behavior and I dont think it
maintains an appropriate working relationship.
It is highly disrespectful.
Does anyone object to the term Service-Learning? It is built on the same
model.
Objection to a term by some group does not mean we necessarily abandon a
term.
Indeed, the notion of Guild is problematic ... it gives sense of closure ...
of seeking the interest of the guild membership before others. It seeks to
control a skilled labor supply. yet we attempt to reclaim and refashion
this term for a new world.
I'm not going to sacrifice my language on the altar of the politcally
correct, its time to have some backbone and firmness with love .. .not to
snark and not to bring dialog to wider circles to attempt to get your way.
