[EFN-Collaboration] Service-Leadership Collective

First I wish to deeply apologize for my clumsy communications here and
any unintentional harm I caused to Michael. I love Michael and his
work. And, by my own fault read the words Service-Leadership as SERVANT
Leadership. SERVICE LEADERSHIP resonates with me and I can support the
word Service over Servant.
So I humbly request my networking buddies to work with me using their
Service Leadership skills so I can become more skillful with
communications.
Sincere thanks to Katrina and Ted for offering me some guidance here. I
love input, especially when it includes examples of what a new behavior
looks like.
BIG LOVE, Julie

Beyond the words chosen, the manner in which we interact is important.
I am deeply disappointed in you and the manner in which you handle
things. You and I were in direct communication for 2 hours immediately
prior to your sending the note to the list... a much wider forum... and
yet you didnt bring the topic up with me nor among the trustees.
I find this a passive aggressive mode of behavior and I dont think it
maintains an appropriate working relationship.
It is highly disrespectful.
Does anyone object to the term Service-Learning? It is built on the
same model.
Objection to a term by some group does not mean we necessarily abandon a
term.
Indeed, the notion of Guild is problematic ... it gives sense of closure
... of seeking the interest of the guild membership before others. It
seeks to control a skilled labor supply. yet we attempt to reclaim
and refashion this term for a new world.
I'm not going to sacrifice my language on the altar of the politcally
correct, its time to have some backbone and firmness with love .. .not
to snark and not to bring dialog to wider circles to attempt to get your
way.

Looking at our language is important. If there are word you or others
consider injudicious speak up.
In particular the words Service Leadership don't work for me because
they imply doing for rather than working with. And, this difference is
objected to by many minority group organizers.
We will need to work though our language together.
Love, julie
