<p>Dear friends of Left Forum,</p>
<p>With over 1000 speakers and 300 panels, we are experiencing an unprecedented level of interest in the conference. We are writing to you because we need your help in the on-site conference operations on March 18-20.</p>
<p>A relatively small crew of folks helps to set up the pre-conference operations that bring in hundreds of panels and panelists from NYC and around the world. Much of Left Forum is self organized and produced mainly through in-kind support and volunteerism. And while the speakers and panel organizers contribute all their time and energy towards making the panels happen, the success of the conference depends upon the willingness of our larger community to pitch in, and to help us run the conference itself.</p>
<p>So what can you do?</p>
<p>We especially need people to help with the registration and admission process, to direct conference attendees to the hundreds of panels and our book exhibits, and to guide people into our plenary events. We also need help with media, video recording and coordinating, and closing operations. </p>
<p>Signing up for one session does of course get you free entry into the conference, but we hope that you can do more. Signing up for two or more shifts creates the consistency that is immeasurably helpful to both the organizers and to the conference as a whole. Please note that we need all those who sign up to meet their commitments, and to inform us at least three days us in advance if that is not possible.</p>
