****
What: Paranoid Android Hackday #1, sponsored by the Guardian Project - http://guardianproject.info

When: Tuesday, April 27th, 10am - 10pm (lunch / dinner / beer provided)

Where: S.A.T.E.L.L.I.T.E. NYC - (RSVP back to me for details). We also welcome remote participation via #guardianproject on IRC/Freenode or Twitter.

Who: You and a select set of other brilliant mobile believers. Space is limited so please RSVP. If you can't come for the whole day, drop-ins lookieloos are also welcome, but don't disturb the hackers. Please bring an Android powered device if you can!

How: We'll start the day with a quick overview of the goals+progress of the Guardian Project and an open discussion about the security and privacy potential of the Android platform. From there, we'll split off into groups to work on specific app ideas, with as much design, coding and hands on usage as possible. We'll take a break in the afternoon to check in progress. At 8pm, we'll have report backs form each group and hopefully demos of real live working paranoid applications. Then we hang out and/or retire to a local watering hole.

Why: Because it is a great way to gather people together for a day focused on doing, rather than just talking about doing. A hackathon refers not simply to one time hacks, but to a specific time when many people come together to hack on what they want to, how they want to - with little to no restrictions on direction or goal of the programming.
