[Leftforumvolunteers] Left Forum Volunteer and Internship Opportunities - Please Help and Please Forward

[Left Forum]

Dear friends:
We’re writing to see if you might help out in this critical conference and
action building period of the Left Forum (the conference will held be at
Pace, *March 16-18th*, 2012). While Left Forum has always been an event that
has been built and sustained by volunteers, with the conference growing as
it has been (1,000 speakers came last time) your help is vitally important.
Areas of internship and volunteer work include:

   - Program and Outreach Administration
   - Media and Publicity
   - Website and Database Coordination
   - Editorial and Digital Graphic Arts
   - Event Planning
   - Video and Social Media
   - Fundraising and Development

People interested in Left media work will find unprecedented opportunities
to source future stories, produce current topical stories, engage in hands
on media and social media work, and develop working relationships with
people in major progressive media outlets.
In addition to working to create and encourage panels for the conference in
one’s area of interest or activism the Program and Outreach Administration
volunteer area offers unique opportunities to work with speakers and focus
on issues and dialogues around activism that one feels strongly about.
We are currently working with web developers to build up the website and
database processes. This area of help would be ideal for people who want to
further their digital-technological skills, careers, and experience.
Teams are forming around all the areas mentioned above and we’d love to have
you consider joining the effort.

*About Left Forum:* Taking place each spring in New York City, Left
Forum convenes
the largest yearly conference of a broad spectrum Left and progressive
intellectuals and organizers. Conference participants come together to share
ideas to transform the world; to better understand commonalities,
differences, and alternatives to current predicaments; and to engage a wide
range of critical perspectives on the world. Left Forum 2011 drew about
4,000 participants, 1,000 speakers for 300 panels. Recent plenary speakers
included Noam Chomsky, Arundhati Roy, and Cornel West.
