Hello everyone,
We have a lot of stuff sitting in storage which was
donated so that we could survive in less than standard living conditions,
and well, now others are in need of material support.
Things I think they would need that are not listed by Occupy Sandy, below.
Uhaul
Hands to sort and pack materials being donated onto the truck.
Those willing to be food collection points, or to hunt needed material
goods.

*URGENT SUPPLIES NEEDED*
Blankets *Candles* Flashlights *Lights* Water *Food* Batteries *Diapers and
Wipes* Gloves and Masks *Rubber boots* Shovels*Cleaning supplies and
bleach* Trash
bags *Serving dishes and utensils* Anything that produces heat *Winter wear
(jackets, hats, gloves, warm stuff)*
During this weeks radio show, I linked up with Yoni Miller of OWS who is
dealing with materials allocation for occupy sandy, they got two uhauls
just yesterday, but he said they still need. This effected many in that
are, we know.
He said they need less clothes, particularly lighter summer clothes,.. but
they do need food, diapers, etc. (i'll assume tarps)
I thought maybe if we could agree through some non standard channels, (as
most have publicly boycotted the GA) that this is the best use of the
"things" , and that then if perhaps, EVERYONE, could get on social media
blast we could attach a two or three day food drive as we organize the
truck, and get the non-edible materials on board. I could even see a real
terse flyer being drafted which could be brought either door to door or to
shops, stating that a pick up and delivery of material goods was being
delivered by OB to OS (Occupy Sandy.)
I have spoken to 2 members of OBlogistics, who said they feel as if this is
a good use of our materials, so perhaps, today, it can begin to be put
into motion?
I think that the truck should leave Tues., Wednesday at the latest; failing
a food drive, ASAP, but have never worked out something like this, so if
others have more experience, please, let me know.
Still here,
John Ford
